  • 2 x USB female ( connect OTG devices )
  • 1 x microUSB female ( enables providing extra power to connected OTG devices )

the problem either microUSB either USB-C LAN adapters, is that not charging the mobile.. Also the OTG USB hub cannot provide power to mobile. This guy [2] says that found the solution but some users (mostly SAMSUNG) say that did not work (read the replies on article).
Only on USB-C, the solution is to plug the mobile to USB-C hub that includes both an Ethernet port and a USB-C power delivery (PD) port. ( sample products )

Randomly had a usbc2lan adapter TPLINK-UE300C to my closet. Bought also a USB-C female to microUSB male adapter for 1.5e, just for curiosity.

Plugged the combo to
Pixel 4 - with stock rom (OS 13 Tiramisu) - working
Samsung S6 with stock rom (OS 7 nougat) - not working
* then tried MurenaOS v2.3 (Lineage v13) - working
Samsung J5 with MurenaOS (Lineage v8.1) - working
* then tried LineageOS v11 - working

-Is LAN via USB supported by Samsung Galaxy S5 ?
-LAN via USB is supported platform-wise by android. You just need to check if the kernel supports your specific adaptor chipset. (src) [2] [3]
